A 15-member Iranian delegation of educationalists on Monday visited the 'Utaq-e-Iran Shanasi' of the Persian department of GC University Lahore and exchanged matters pertaining to the promotion of Persian language and literature at the campus.
Chairperson department of Persian, GC University Professor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Saqib apprised the delegation about the profile of the Persian department and briefed them about the ongoing short courses on 'Persian language and Iran Shanasi'.
He also told the delegation that the department has published 15 books on the Persian language and literature.
The leader of the Iranian delegation Agha Durri eulogised the efforts being undertaken by the Persian department of the University for promoting the Iranian language and literature. He hoped that the brotherly relations between the two Islamic states would further strengthen through the mutual interaction at the educational level. Later, Dr Muhammad Iqbal Saqib presented a collection of Persian books to Agha Durri.
