Various socio-political organisations have finalised their programmes to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan on August 14 in a befitting manner. Moreover, sale of national flags, buntings, stickers, badges and pictures has gained momentum.
The national flags, badges and colourful buntings are also seen in every nook and corner of the city. People from all age groups, faiths and walks of life are found buying national flags and buntings to decorate their homes, shops and neighbourhoods. Already the national flag is seen fluttering atop a large number of houses and shops, wagons, buses, motorcycles and rickshaws.
Different shopping and commercial centres and bazaars are being decorated with colourful buntings and national flags, ahead of the gala celebrations lined up for the special day on August 14.
Moreover, special functions are being arranged in private and public schools, seminars and discussions will be held by various organisations to highlight the creation of Pakistan, and the factors and personalities involved in the independence movement. Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Shalamar Town has organised a colourful programme in connection with Independence Day celebrations on Sunday (August 13).
