Pakistan cricket team led by Chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf on Tuesday visited Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) and distributed cheques and gifts among the patients, especially children.
As the Pakistan-West Indies five one-day match series opener was washed away, the national team paid a visit to hospital, known as polyclinic, bringing smiles and excitement on patient's faces.
It was last year's catastrophic earthquake when the Pakistan cricket team had visited twin cities' hospitals and spent a day with the quake victims besides donating match fee of a test match against England.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Dr Nasim Ashraf, Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and other player were accorded warm welcome when they arrived at the polyclinic hospital. Medical Superintendent Javed Chaudhry, his deputy Fazlur Rehman and Dr Sharif Astori along with scores of people present there welcomed the national team players. Cricket heroes went to various wards of the hospital and inquired about the health of patients including children.
Skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq, while talking to newsmen, said they always strived to bring smiles on the beautiful faces of children. However, children missed Shahid Afridi, who is the most popular player among youngsters and requested for his inclusion in the team.
