The Ivanovo region of the Russian Federation has tremendous potential for Pakistani textile products. This was stated by Pak-Russia Business Council of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Director Farooq Afzal on return after an extensive tour of Ivanovo region.
Ivanovo is known as the Manchester of Russia and 70 percent of textile business is carried out there. Pakistani entrepreneurs should explore this neglected region and penetrate in the area, which was looking for good quality products, he said.
He was invited by Alexander Borisovich, Director of Textil Profi, - a textile expo centre where textile importers and wholesalers display their products round the year.
Farooq advised the textile exporters/manufacturers to visit this expo centre and avail the opportunity of meeting directly potential buyers. He also visited Ivanovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met its President Leonid G. Ivanov.
Following discussions, both agreed to sign a protocol to organise mutual visits of business delegations, holding of single-country exhibitions in each other's country, co-operation between chambers of commerce and industry and in the field of water and power resources, science and technology, food and agriculture, tourism, culture, information technology and telecommunications.
