It is heartening to find that the Bolan Joint Venture is pursuing the development of Zarghun Gas Field in Balochistan. The Government fully recognises that the Oil and Gas sector is a lynchpin in reducing gap between supply and demand of Pakistan's energy needs.
We are thus determined to support the industry in every possible way in order to align the Oil and Gas sector in Pakistan to our poverty alleviation strategy. There is no doubt that this sector can make a huge contribution to our goal of a prosperous Pakistan.
I wish and hope that Zarghun Gas Field will, by the grace of Allah, serve as an important milestone in the development of Balochistan. The government will do its best by soliciting positive support from the local population who can play a vital role in all such projects in the province to achieve overall success.
I shall like to commend the sincere efforts of bolan joint venture partners, and pray for their success, not only in the development and operation of Zarghun Gas Field, but also in their all other such ventures. On my part, I assure them that the Government will continue to support them in every possible way.
