The United States has great interest in the development of Fata and this is the reason that US officials have been in constant touch with the traders and industrialists of the tribal belt of Pakistan.
This was stated by Economic Growth Bureau Washington USAID, Director Stephen Hadley during a visit to the Tribal Areas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TACCI), where he held meeting with the TACCI executive members.
PASDEK Director Shahid-ur-Rehman and TACCI vice president Tamash Khan were also present on the occasion and apprised the USAID of the problems being faced by the tribal traders and industrialists. The US delegation visited the Chamber office to review the steps taken so far the development of the tribal areas. They got information about the development in the tribal areas.
Stephen Hadley said the US administration was keen in putting Fata on path of progress and prosperity. "Besides industrial and trading development, we also want to provide healthcare and education facilities to the people of most backward tribal areas," he added. The US official said that USAID was working for the provision of education, health and health care facilities to the people of tribal areas.
"The USAID has been giving great attention to the tribal areas," he said. He said the tribal areas had natural resources in abundance and to introduce in the international markets, the USAID would provide all-out support to the traders and industrialists of tribal areas.-PR
