With a view to providing speedy and cheap travelling facilities to public, Pakistan Railways has decided to ply Pakistan Express from Rawalpindi to Karachi from December 16, 2006. A spokesman of Railways said, here on Friday that this train, comprising economy class bogies would run from Rawalpindi to Karachi via Faisalabad.
It would have eight stop-over at Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Sangla Hill, Faisalabad, Khanewal, Multan, Rohri and Hyderabad. The fare from Rawalpindi to Karachi would be of Rs 600/-. The train would leave Rawalpindi railway station on every Tuesday and Saturday at 8.30 am, and reach Karachi at 6.30 am next day ie, Wednesday and Sunday. From Karachi, the train will leave for Rawalpindi on every Wednesday and Sunday at 11.30 am. It will reach Rawalpindi at 9.30 am, next day ie, Thursday and Monday. Pakistan Express (45-up/46 down) will be comprised of 16 bogies.
