Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has acted as a bridge between the government and business community and working for industrialisation to enhance trade relations with neighbouring countries, besides resolving problems of business community, RCCI President Dr Hasan Sarosh Akram said on Friday.
He was addressing a dinner party hosted by Mian Pervaiz Aslam Group in the honour of industrialists and businessmen of the region. He said business community of the Rawalpindi region was facing various problems particularly the law and order and the government was informed about the concerns and "we expect early solution of these problems."
Business community is backbone of the country's economic structure and by paying huge taxes they are playing big role in socio-economic development of the country, he said.
He said Rawalpindi was the third biggest city of Pakistan and a gateway to Central Asian states, China and Afghanistan. He said no one could deny the geo-strategic importance of this city adding that industrialists and businessmen of the region should be given special incentives to enhance trade.
The Chamber has decided to set up different industries like textiles, poultry, and pharmaceutical in the region and provide information and technical know how to business community to avoid losses.
