Director General Planning (Erra) informed National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat that at least 99 percent people have been provided a mid-term housing facilities and only 10 percent people are living in tent villages at that time.
At present all the roads and services are operational and markets are back in business and all offices, banks, schools and health facilities are now functioning in the earthquake-affected areas, he said.
He said that Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (Erra) had disbursed Rs 60 billion for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of quake-affected people yet. He informed the committee that amount of Rs 75,000 per house was being provided to the victims in shape of three instalments to repair their houses.
Earlier, the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat was held here in the Parliament Hose on Friday. Ahmed Raza Maneka chaired the meeting. The representative from Erra gave a detail briefing to the committee on the ongoing/completed projects under the Erra up till now.
The committee also expressed desire to pay visit to the earthquake-affected areas to see and check the progress on the ground. MNAs, Malik Allah Yar Khan, Onaza Ehsan, Abdul Mujeeb Pirzada, Muhammad Faiz Tamman, Begum Bushra Rehman, Shagufta Jumani, Nafisa Munawar Raja, and State Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Shahid Akram Bhinder and Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sher Afgan Niazi also attended the meeting.
