The Karachi Port handled 40,403 tonnes cargo including 35,362 tonnes import, 5,041 tonnes export cargo and 226 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The cargo comprised of 40,403 tonnes dry cargo including 10,846 tonnes general cargo and 29,557 tonnes bulk cargo.
Two ships namely Mega-II and George sailed out to sea during the report period. Three vessels viz Bunga Kenari, Le Ye and Iron Butterfly are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Pattaya Navee, Evgenia, Le Ye and Iron Butterfly expected to sail on Saturday, while four vessels viz Bunga Kenari, Wakato, Oel Aishwarya and Ju Fu Men are expected to sail on Sunday. Four vessels viz Iran Shahryar, Viking Martin, Jaeger and Soraya due to arrive on Saturday, while four ships namely MT Swat, Pu He, Amasis and Jade-C are due to arrive on Sunday. One ship namely Gallant Wave is due to arrive on Monday
Five ships namely CV Al Manakh, CV MSC Deila, CV Lucien, MT Sinar Agra and MT Anette Kosan sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. Container vessel viz Maersk Arkansas is expected to sail on Saturday afternoon.
A total of three vessels viz Saudi Abha, Captain George-L and Sturdy Falcon are currently at the outer anchorage. Three ships namely CV MSC America, MV Captain George-L and CV Saudi Abha due to take berths on Saturday. Bulk cargo carrier viz MV Barbara due to arrive on Saturday, while two more ships namely CV MSC London and CV Phoenix are due to arrive on Sunday.
PORT QASIM WEEKLY OPERATIONAL ACTIVITY A total cargo volume of 494,192 tonnes comprising 392,073 tonnes import and 102,119 tonnes export cargo was handled during last week ending on Friday, 8th December 2006.
The cargo comprised of 49,615 diesel oil; 65,449 tonnes crude oil; 10,000 edible oil; 22,930 tonnes chemicals; 51,587 tonnes seeds; 85,580 tonnes iron ore; 1,410 tonnes general cargo and 207,621 tonnes containerised cargo. A total of twenty-four ships took berths to load/offload the above cargoes, while twenty-four vessels sailed out to sea during the reporting week.
