City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has laid foundation stone for the construction of Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases (KIHD) Phase II worth Rs 400 million and also announced the procurement of latest machinery (Multi-slice CT-angio) worth Rs 120 million with the support of Federal government.
He said they will develop this hospital into full fledge modern health care unit in the country and it would be completed within two years as the stipulated time is three years.
This he stated after laid the foundation stone for the five-storey building of KIHD under the second phase, which will be included, 250-beds besides the facilities of angiography, angioplasty and open heart surgery. The ground floor of the building of Phase II would be utilised as OPD while on the first floor OT Complex and laboratory, on the second floor will be served as general ward, private ward on third floor, admin block and more private ward also be constructed on the fourth floor while the fifth floor would be constructed later.
