Monday and subsequent days trading on the wholesale commodity markets suffered normal going due to rains and shivering cold. The week ended on December 9, 2006 where moong managed sharp rise while other items had modest to substantial fluctuations, besides Kiran items, chemicals, wheat, moong , masoor, urad, plastic moulding, guwar etc.
The last few day's hit trading on the commodity wholesale market, yet a few changes were noted on the last trading spared for later publication. On the Jodia Bazar, kirana items saw changes in black pepper from Singapore which retreated by Rs 300 to Rs 6100, black pepper from Brazil also moved downward by Rs 200 tp Rs 6100, small cardamom finished lower by Rs 1000 to Rs 12000, cloves also finished lower by Rs 600 to Rs 10,400, copra Ceylon closed higher by Rs 400 to Rs 2800, dry ginger was down by Rs 400 to Rs 3600, and Saunf retreated by Rs 600 to Rs 3200, however, elsewhere rains washed the trading as if there was a holiday.
The few unpublished items like plastic moldings had changes in HDPE (film) Saudia 952 closed lower by Rs 1.25 to Rs 47, Mobil finished down Rs 1.25 to Rs 47 and TR 144 retreated by Rs 1.25 at Rs 46.50, LLDPE W118 closed lower by Rs 1 to Rs 48, 1087 finished lower by same amount to Rs 48 and Sabic quoted at Rs 55 Polypropylene film (Thai closed lower by Rs 2 to Rs 46, Kuwait finished lower by Rs 2 to Rs 46, and India edged down by Rs 3 to Rs 46, Polypropylene (tape grade) India closed lower by 50 paisa at Rs 44.50, Kuwait closed lower by 50 paisa to Rs 44.50, Saudai retreated by 50 Paisa to Rs 44.50, polypropylene (injection grade) Saudia closed lower by 50 paisa to Rs 44.50, India down by same amount to Rs 44.50 and Kuwait lost 50 Paisa to Rs 44.50. Elsewhere wheat closed lower by Rs 15 to Rs 1205, and other one at Rs 1215, guwar better type lost sharply by Rs 75 to Rs 1825 while inferior type was quoted at Rs 1700.
On the second day, that is Tuesday, on JB chemicals (Per Lb) Sodium Sulphate closed lower by 40 paisa to R 9.50, NJ Taiwan finished by Rs 8 to Rs 115, formic acid Germany closed down by Rs 1 to Rs 53.50 and citric acid China finished higher by Rs 3 to Rs 48 petroleum jelly, Sulphonic acid soft finished lower by Rs 2 to Rs 75. PVA Japan retreated by Rs 3 to Rs 149, Sitara Caustic Soda flakes closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 33, Caustic Taiwan closed down by Re 1 to Rs 35, hydrosulphite China 88 pc closed higher by Rs 25 to Rs 44 and hydrogene peroxide 35 percent Korea 5 percent closed higher by Rs 3.75 to Rs 33.
Elsewhere cottonseed oil cakes with bag lost Rs 10 to Rs 670 and better type quoted at Rs 680. Wheat old and new turned higher by Rs 15 to Rs 1220 and other to Rs 1235.
On Thursday moong Punjab turned sharply higher by Rs 250 to Rs 3500 and masoor dal registered higher by Rs 100 to Rs 3500 and urad from Burma lost Rs 20 to Rs 1600 and better type was quoted at Rs 1700. On Thursday Jodia Bazar saw some changes, in Kenyan Tea (per kg) PF-1 A grade finished lower by Rs 2 to Rs 194, B grade finished lower by Rs 40 Rs 180, and plus C grade closed lower by Rs 2 to Rs 166 RP -1 A grade finished up Rs 3 to Rs 198, B grade higher by Rs 4 to Rs 182 and plus C grade closed-higher by Rs 2 to Rs 170. Elsewhere, till better type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 1350 and inferior type finished higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1550. Irri white closed higher by Rs 20 to Rs 1110 and better type was quoted at Rs 1120.
On Friday also markets presented the fewest fluctuation as on Jodia Bazar has some in raw rubber from Ceylon RSSV was quoted at Rs 59 and Pale Crape TPC 3 was quoted at Rs 75. Latex Semnan gained Rs 25 to Rs 375 and Thai (G.T) turned higher by same amount to Rs 375. Elsewhere on the commodity wholesale markets no change was reported.
On Saturday guwar inferior type gained Rs 50 and better one was up by Rs 25. Other items remained almost stay put.
