A contingent of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) arrived here on Sunday at Pakistan Air Force Base Chaklala to participate in the joint exercise "Friendship 2006". This will be China's first ever joint-military exercise out side China
The exercise will start in Pakistan on December 11, a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
The 10-day long exercises are aimed at strengthening the existing bonds of friendship between Armies of the two countries, it said.
"The exercise will be second of its nature, while the first exercise was held in China in 2004".
This will be for the first time that troops from Peoples Liberation Army will carry out joint exercises outside China.
High level delegations from both the countries are expected to visit the exercise area during the conduct phase to witness the joint exercises,the statement.
Earlier on arrival at PAF Base Chaklala the PLA delegation was warmly received by senior Pakistan Army Officers.
