Survey teams of an independent organisation would randomly select tax officials and taxpayers for carrying out a perception survey to know about the impact of reforms.
Revenue Division Secretary General and CBR Chairman Abdullah Yusuf has directed the collectors and commissioners to fully cooperate with the survey teams for timely completion of the perception survey for making key decisions pertaining to reforms implementation.
Sources told Business Recorder on Monday that the CBR has issued instructions to field formations about the launching of perception survey by Gallup Pakistan, focusing on reforms encompassing integrity of tax managers.
As part of future policy framework design it is important that feedback from stakeholders including CBR employees is obtained regularly through perception surveys conducted by an independent consultant firm of repute, CBR Chairman said.
He said that Gallup Pakistan has been awarded contract of conducting countrywide perception survey on behalf of CBR. The firm is about to launch the fieldwork where its enumerators would contact CBR employees, selected through random sampling. Face to face interviews would be conducted on various aspects of the reform program. The interview session may last up to an hour.
The field formations must keep in mind that successful completion of the survey is vital for future directions of the on-going CBR reforms. Therefore, all heads of field formations have been directed to ensure co-operation with the survey teams for timely completion of the task, Yusuf said. Meanwhile, the Board has handed over revised survey forms to the survey organisation.
