The District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that Hilal-e-Ahmar Hyderabad was working with zeal and its performance was outstanding while various centres working under Hilal-e-Ahmar are performing prominently in Pakistan.
This he said this at the Awareness Session on community based "First Aid Training Programme" organised by District Red Crescent Hyderabad at a local hotel on Saturday morning. He said that Hilal-e-Ahmar was not only serving at Hyderabad but was also extending services for the ailing people at other districts.
He appreciated the performance of Dr Farooque Memon who is offering his services for the welfare of humanity day and night, thus the Hilal-e-Ahmar Hyderabad has achieved prominent position in the area.
Holding of First Aid Training Programme was highly appreciable and this will play a vital role in saving the precious lives of affected people by providing first aid to them at the time of natural disasters, he added.
He maintained that Hyderabad was a peaceful city of Sindh province and there is complete cohesion and harmony among all sections of people. However, it is very much needed for youth of city to fully participate in this first aid training programme, he advised.
He stressed the need to continue the training programme regularly. He directed the EDO Health to arrange similar programmes and create awareness amongst people about importance of First Aid, so as to control the causalities and precious lives are saved.
The Vice President of Hilal-e-Ahmad Sindh Sardar Yaseen Malik in his address emphasised the objective of the programme was to ensure timely and prompt first aid to affected people.
He stressed the need to arrange similar training for traffic police staff so that they can provide first aid treatment to injured people at the spot of accidents. He announced donation of Mobile Trolley for Mobile Surgery Unit on behalf of Hilal-e-Ahmar Sindh.
The Italian Government had provided Surgery Unit to Pakistan Hilal-e-Ahmar, which has been given to Hilal-e-Ahmar Hyderabad and due to non-availability of Mobile Trolley, the Surgery Unit was performing services at only one place, and now with provision of such trolley, the Surgery Unit will be extend its services at various places.
Earlier, Chairman, Hilal-e-Ahmar Hyderabad Dr Farooque Memon presented welcome address and highlighted activities of District Red Crescent. Dr Rizwana Wasif presented First Aid Training procedures and latest techniques to the participants. Dr Farooque Memon informed that Hilal-e-Ahmar Hyderabad in collaboration of Fatmid Foundation would start Haematological and Thalesemia Centre at Hyderabad City in the month of August 2007 so that poor and needy people could be facilitated locally instead of going to Karachi. The programme was largely attended by doctors, technicians and elite of city.
