Dr Sher Aslam Khan, Project Director, Oil Seeds Production, Pakistan Oilseeds Development Board, (PODB) Tarnab, Peshawar has been awarded the degree of PhD by the Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad for his research work on the sunflower.
The PODB is working under the umbrella of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Islamabad. Dr Sher Aslam worked on the Genetic Regulation of Seed Yield and Oil Quality Attributes in Sunflower, under the supervision of Dr Afsari Qureshi.
The findings of his research project would be useful for Sunflower Hybride Seed Production in Pakistan. Dr Sher Aslam Khan's research work was examined by a team of farm experts and it was taken as the most useful and beneficial research methodology for the future research on the sunflower and its uses. His research has made it more and more easy the exploration of sunflower seeds for further benefits for the human body as well.-PR
