Reflecting the winds of change in Indo-Pak relations, a month-long Pakistani Truck Art exhibition has been opened at an Indian restaurant in Mayfair.
"An Indian restaurant of great fame hosting a Pakistani Truck Art exhibition signifies the winds of change in the bilateral relations," Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan's High Commissioner to the UK, said while inaugurating the exhibition at Chor Bizarre's Art Gallery on Wednesday night.
Describing Truck Art as a distinct folk art representing the creativity and aspirations of a large number of Pakistanis, Lodhi said the exhibition by Anjum Rana would make the art popular at global level. "These colourful trucks are known as 'kings of road' and the colour and artwork reflect the diversity of Pakistan," she said.
Mahendra Kaul, OBE, Chairman of the Chor Bizarre Restaurant Group, said the rare exhibition would go a long way in bringing nationals of the two countries together in London.
