Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Monday announced to move court in case the former Prime Minister and party chief Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif were deported to any other country on their arrival in Islamabad on Monday (today).
PML-N Secretary Information Ahsan Iqbal, while addressing a press conference along with Tehmina Daultana and other leaders said that despite the apex court's clear instructions to government not to obstruct or create hindrances in return of Sharif Brothers to country, the government had arrested over 2500 workers of PML-N and using all negative tactics to bar Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif from coming back to Pakistan.
Ahsan Iqbal said that PML-N would go to the court if government created hurdles in the way back of party chief and his family members. Lambasting government for, what he said, launching a massive crackdown against PML-N workers across Punjab and NWFP in a bid to restrain them from awarding a rousing welcome to Nawaz Sharif, he said that the government act was a sheer violation of the apex court verdict.
Our struggle, he said, would continue at all cost for upholding the independence of judiciary, sovereignty of parliament and for strengthening democracy despite what he termed atrocities of the regime.
Ahsan vowed that the PML-N workers and leader would reach Islamabad International Airport to receive their leaders despite all the hurdles created by the government.
He also said that PML (N) would take action against all the police officers after coming to power, who are involved in arresting the party activists. He informed the media that all the entry and exist points of Islamabad to and from Punjab and NWFP were completely sealed and hurdles were created at the same pattern whatever it made in Karachi on May 12.
"Musharraf put the relations with Saudi Arabia at complete stack to achieve his vested interests", he blamed. Ahsan further said that the decision of Supreme Court has more importance than the agreement made by the Sharifs. Tehmina Daultana said that All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) would receive Nawaz Sharif at the airport on Monday. She said that we respect Saudi Arabia and request not to interfere in internal affairs of Pakistan.
