The Karachi Port handled 126,510 tonnes cargo including 98,918 tonnes import, 27,592 tonnes export cargo and 3,161 containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 112,569 tonnes dry cargo including 67,549 tonnes general cargo; 27,500 tonnes coal; 467 tonnes raw jute; 11,739 tonnes cement; 4,609 tonnes rice; 705 tonnes other cargo and 13,941 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely Taxiarchis-1, LTC Calvin P. Titus, Red Sea Spirit, Bolan, OEL Mumbai and Soon Fu sailed out to sea during the report period.
Seven vessels viz Soon Fu, OEL Mumbai, OEL Spirit, Conti Germany, Gulf Bridge, Ocean Bridge and Caribbean carrier are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Ocean Bridge, MOL Ability, Frankfurt Express, Banglar Mookh and OEL Spirit expected to sail on Tuesday. Five vessels viz Nordwoge, China Star, JOP, Adriatic Arrow and Pacific Arrow due to arrive on Monday, while four ships namely Anawan, APL Sokhna, OEL Shreyas and Hope Star are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 40,754 tonnes furnace oil; 5,871 tonnes edible oil; 542 tonnes cement and 6,426 tonnes containerised cargo. Container ship namely Pacheco sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total of five ships namely CEC Confidence, Westama, Keefan, Mutha Supreme and MSC Socotra carrying general cargo, edible oil, diesel oil, cement and containers are currently at the outer anchorage. Four vessels viz CV Pacheco, MV Safaga, MT Gemini and MT Sea Lion are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, edible oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three vessels viz CV MSC Socotra, CV Maersk Georgia and MV CEC Confidence due to take berths at Container Terminal and Multipurpose Terminal respectively on Monday. Three vessels viz CV MSC Zanzibar, MT Orient Miho and MV Banglar Mookh with containers, chemicals and wheat due to arrive on Monday, while four more container ships namely CV Nedlloyd Oceania, CV Sima Pride, CV Emirates Jumeirah and CV CMA CGM Turkey due to arrive on Tuesday.
