Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that Quaid's Pakistan is considered as a strong country among the whole Muslim Ummah and it is moving ahead on the path of progress under the leadership of President Pervez Musharraf.
He was talking to the media after laying wreath at the mazar of Quaid-e-Azam on the occasion of his 59th death anniversary, along with Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan here on Monday. The Chief Minister said, "It is because of Quaid-e-Azam that we are living as a free nation for which we should be thankful to Allah."
Replying to a question Dr Arbab said Nawaz Sharif was not forcibly sent to Saudi Arabia rather on his own will. He recalled that five years back, Nawaz Sharif had sought Saudi Arabia's help and was provided relief by the government of Pakistan. He went to Saudi Arabia under an agreement, but later deviated from the same.
He said if anyone remains with someone as a guest even for one day, he should realise and deliver the favour in return. But Nawaz Sharif denied the agreement and lived in Saudi Arabia as their guest for so many years.
Chief Minister said that when Nawaz Sharif came here he was informed about NAB cases against him after instead of going to jail he went to Saudi Arabia. To a question Dr Arbab said that any amendment in the constitution required two-third majority, therefore, government was holding talks with various political parties.
In the national interest, he said, dialogue was being held with the PPP and Maulana Fazlur Rehman while our doors would remain open for political parleys. He told a questioner that President Pervez Musharraf would take vote from the present assemblies for Presidentship. Earlier, the Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad and Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim laid floral wreaths at the Quaid's Mazar to pay homage to father of nation.
