The Indonesian Consul General in Karachi H.E. Mustakim and his wife hosted a reception here at the local hotel to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Declaration of Indonesian Independence which was very largely attended. Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro was the Chief Guest who on the occasion cut the ceremonial cake.
On arrival, he was welcomed by Indonesian Consul General and Mrs Mustakim as also Consul Trigustone Supriyant and Consul Mulyani and Vice Consuls of Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi. The Indonesian Consul General also reciprocated his feelings and looked forward to further strengthening of ties in the coming days.
The Indonesian National Day flag hoisting ceremony had earlier been held on August 17, 2008. The National Day reception was held on Thursday night at the local hotel. Saudi Consul General and Dean of Consular Corps Hassan A. Attar, Consul Generals of UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, China, Japan, USA, Thailand, Germany, UK, Iran, Turkey and Honorary Consul Generals and Consul Generals of many countries as also prominent parliamentarians, industrialists, businessmen and educationists as also media men attended the reception.
