The Government of Pakistan has established a relief camp for the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) from Swat and Bajaur in Malakand. The camp has 316 tents with the capacity to accommodate more than four thousand people. The District Co-ordinating Officer (DCO), Malakand inaugurated the relief camp on November 15.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the DCO Arshad Khan said to the IDPs that troubles came in the history of nations but those who addressed the challenges with passion, have always succeeded. 'We would stand firm and a day will come that every IDP would go back to his or her village and home with peace, honour and dignity,' he assured.
Many officials including Muhammad Member Provincial Assembly, Ali Shah Bacha and Union Councils Nazims from Dargai, Rizwan Ullah were also present on the occasion. The DCO further said that during the military operation in Swat and Bajaur, the Local Administration, with the help of the Provincial Government, worked to provide shelter and other basic facilities to the IDPs. He assured that to do everything possible to facilitate the IDPs in future as well.
Further, Khan advised the IDPs to maintain a peaceful environment in the camp said, "keep it clean and watch your surroundings carefully to avoid any mishaps.' He further said that the IDPs should co-operate with the Camp Management and if they have any complaints, they are free to contact the Political Administration.-PR
