A leading newspaper dated 17 November 2008 carried a picture of containers loaded with food items and military vehicles. It did not say if there was heavy ammunition and missiles in these containers. Missiles for drones are perhaps carried in these containers to be used against Pakistani citizens in FATA.
These attacks have become a common practice where innocent men, women and children are killed. Our cries about sovereignty are not heard at the White House. We are a front line state fighting global terrorism, a strategic partner, a non-member Nato ally etc. It is an irony of fate that a major ally is targeting its strategic partner with missiles fired from drones and killing its citizens.
Due to fear and uncertainty there is large scale migration of people from FATA. This perhaps suits US interests as it wants a safe corridor for its oil and gas pipeline from Central Asian States through Afghanistan, FATA and Balochistan. Time has come when logistic support to Nato be debated in the Parliament and final decision taken in the interest of the country.
