The CIA Police, Iqbal Town division, has arrested seven criminals including three hired assassins involved in a number of incidents of dacoity, street crimes and murder seized car, mobile phone, motorcycle, rickshaw and illegal weapons from their possession. Arrested persons during a preliminary interrogation have confessed to their involvement a number of crimes.
According to details, the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore directed the SP CIA, Muhammad Umar Virk to take effective measures against incidents of heinous crimes constituted a team comprising the DSP CIA, Iqbal Town, Zafar Iqbal Dogar and other officials, which arrested seven criminals on a tip-off.
The criminals used to snatch valuables from commuters at gunpoint and injured them on resistance. The arrested persons have criminal history and the police have traced five cases traced against them in Kotlakhpat, Hanjarwall, Model Town and Ferozwala, District Sheikhupura police stations.
They were identified as Ghulam Mustafa, Sharafat Ali, Saif-ul-Malook, Shahbaz Haider, Abid Ali, Shahadat Ali and Muhammad Ali alias Babal. Further investigation is in progress. The CCPO has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team assigned for the task.
