Wattan Party (WP) has approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan with prayer to allow to amend petition and to allow mutual legal assistance securing the status of civil party in case of President Asif Ali Zardari.
The petitioner also prayed to the court to declare that neither no criminal case could be revived against the President Asif Ali Zardari during his term of office nor he is required to be represented by any body in any court of law. He also prayed to the court to set aside the judgement issued in the case of Dr Mohbashir Hassan and others vs federation of Pakistan. The petitioner contended that one judge of the Supreme Court, who sat in the bench, was brother of former Attorney General of Pakistan who made the initial request for mutual legal assistance to be a civil party in Swiss alleged money laundering case and his other brother was minister of state and had opposed to Benazir Bhutto. The judge could had bias consciously or unconsciously to the other party.
