Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday said the genuine grievances of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) would be addressed to keep the coalition intact, in line with the government's reconciliation policy. He said the Pakistan Peoples Party would also work on winning co-operation of other political parties in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Senior Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, who called on him at the PM House. He appreciated co-operation of the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) for their efforts to reconcile other political parties and their recent meeting with AJK Prime Minister Sardar Atiq Ahmed Khan in this context.
He said reconciliatory politics was need of the hour to keep the nation united and focused on the solution of major national issues confronting the people. The Prime Minister said the recent elections would go a long way for winning the fundamental rights of the people of Kashmir. He observed that the public mandate given to the PPP AJK would pave the way for the solution of Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of Kashmiri people.
He appreciated the PML-Q's reconciliatory role in politics and their keen interest in keeping other coalition partners on-board. Both the senior leaders of PML-Q congratulated the Prime Minister on victory of the Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir in free, fair and transparent elections. They lauded the government's politics of reconciliation and suggested the Prime Minister to address the grievances of MQM and work out all the possibilities to keep the coalition intact.
