The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will emerge as victorious in the next general election as well. This was stated by the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on Saturday. He was addressing a huge public meeting organised by the PPP at Kammo Shaheed on the Sindh-Punjab border.
Qaim Ali Shah said that people had voted for the PPP in the last general election and this party has come to power because of the struggle and sacrifices of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the workers of the party. He stated that the present government is the government of the poor and peasants and it has served the people of the entire country without any distinction.
He said that this gathering of more than one million warns the chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Nawaz Sharif not to challenge the people of Sindh or of Pakistan because much more people would gather then to head for Lahore. He was of the view that politics was not the field fit for Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Qaim Ali Shah said that Nawaz Sharif had taken the dictation of the dictator whereas the PPP runs the government in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the masses. It has given employment to the jobless and empowered the women in the country. He also exhorted the PML-N not to test the workers of the PPP.
Chief Minister Sindh stated that November-December is not very far off and that Mian Nawaz Sharif should have perseverance and work for the next general elections. He pointed out that Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, has seen many difficulties and yet he is steadfast and determined. Qaim Ali Shah said that the Kalabagh Dam in no way would be constructed.
