At least two persons including a woman lost their lives in separate road mishaps in different areas on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, a woman was killed while her nephew sustained injures in road accident near Daak Khana in the limits of Super Market police station.
The incident took place at Liaquatabad near Daak Khan where a speedy dumper (TAA-078) knocked a bike (KBC-9061) from back. Resultantly, a 45-year old Noor Jahan was killed while her nephew received injuries.After committing the crime, the driver managed to flee from the scene but was caught near C-1 area graveyard. The enraged people started beating him and torched the dumper. On being informed, the police rushed to the spot and took the custody of driver. SHO Ejaz Qaimkhani said the victim was the resident of Qasimabad Liaquatabad and at the time of incident she was on the way to buy kitchen stuff. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and later handed over her heirs.
In another incident, a labour lost his life when he during performing his job fell down from under construction building near New Subzi Mandi in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The victim Abdul Sattar, 55, son of Abdul Ghaffar, a resident of sector 8-B Data Nagar Orangi Town, faced the said accident when he was working at the top of the under construction building located near New Subzi Mandi. Resultantly, he received head injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and later handed over his family.
