It is essential to pre-empt criminal elements before they commit crimes to restore the people's confidence on the police force, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen said on Saturday. He was addressing a ceremony held at the CIA Police's Model Town Office. SP CIA Captain (Retd) Liaquat Ali Malik and DSP CIA Model Town Atif Hayat accompanied the CCPO.
Stressing the need for reforming the Thana culture, Muhammad Aslam Tareen also ordered police officers to perform their duties without consideration of any greed or external pressure. He said that the atmosphere of police stations should be so friendly that peaceful citizens should not feel any hesitation in visiting police stations.
CIA Police is said to have seized stolen property worth Rs 2.4 million in the jurisdictions of Misri Shah, Sattokalta, North Cantt, Shahdara, Shafiqabad, Manawan, Ghaziabad, Yakki Gate and Gulshan-e-Ravi police stations. As many as 12 cases were registered, which included cash recovery of Rs 1.013 million, three motorcycles, gold ornaments, four cell phones, three watches, two cameras, two pistols and bullets. He handed over stolen goods on Supurdari to its rightful owners, including: Muhammad Hussain, Amir Ashraf, Hafiz Muhammad Zohaib, Sheikh Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Zeeshan Hanif, Shiraz Ashraf, Ghulam Qadir, Abdul Rauf, Haroon Shabir, Atta Muhammad, Umar Zaman and Abdul Rauf.
