All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran (APAT) has urged the government to bring down electricity tariff to reduce the cost of doing business in the country. The APAT Secretary General Naeem Mir said this while speaking at a reception hosted by Anjuman-e-Tajiran Ganpat Road in honour of the central leadership of the APAT here on Saturday.
Addressing on the occasion, central General Secretary APAT Naeem Mir said that APAT is non-political organisation, having no affiliation with any political party. He said that APAT has launched membership drive which will continue till June 31, in all markets of city.
He criticised the severe load shedding in the country and added that the ongoing high prices of petroleum products had hit the whole economy and businesses. He said that not only the transportation cost of goods has skyrocketed but fares of public transport have also increased.
He asked the government to cut fuel rates. As the government is producing huge amount of electricity through thermal means and after reduction in petroleum prices, electricity tariff should also come down, he added. Kh. Shafiq, Mian Abdul Mannan, Rana Shahbaz, Shahid Bilal and Shahid Iqbal also spoke on the occasion.
