A well-known general surgeon of Hyderabad was kidnapped while he was returning from Karachi between the night of Saturday and Sunday. Dr Aftab Qureshi's personal secretary Arshad Laghari told APP that his family began to get worried when he did not reach his residence Saturday night.
"They tried his cell phone which remained off for many hours. Then they received a call from his number and heard the voice of an unknown person asked them to prepare the amount of ransom," he said.
According to him, Dr Qureshi attended his clinic located near Police Headquarters in Saddar, Karachi, 2 days every week. The family members refused to speak about the issue. The police, when contacted, said they do not know about the incident and that they would contact the family if the news about his kidnapping was true.
