Special Assistance to Chief Minister Punjab on Food, Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt on Friday paid a surprise visit to wheat procurement centre Burki and found the process of procurement in accordance with the policy of the Food Department. He was informed that 111,000 gunny bags had been provided to the farmers at Burki centre so far while 4,900 bags of wheat had been purchased.
A large number of farmers and representatives of farmer associations were present on the occasion. The farmers demanded of Mansha Ullah Butt to simplify the procedure for provision of gunny bags and increase its quota. Mansha Ullah Butt, on the demand of the farmers, announced to increase the daily quota of gunny bags.
