Marriage halls in populated areas: LDA DG allowed 10 more days for taking action
The Lahore High Court here on Monday allowed Lahore development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) 10 more days for taking action against marriage halls established in residential localities of the city. LDA DG Ahad Cheema appeared before the court and sought more time to do the needful. During the course of hearing, the court remarked that LDA officials were directly involved in the construction of marriage halls in residential areas.
He said the mushroom growth of such halls in thick populated areas had given the inhabitants hell. The court also remarked that the LDA officials leaked information themselves before going to anti-encroachment operation.
