Turkey has been playing an important role in the development of Punjab and Ankara has always extended invaluable co-operation, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday. He was talking to a five-member delegation of Turk parliamentarians led by Burhan Kayaturk in Murree.
Welcoming Turk parliamentarians to Pakistan, he said that Istanbul and Lahore were twin cities and that is why the people of Lahore had warmly welcomed the mayor of Istanbul during his visit to the city. The Chief Minister invited the Turk delegation to Lahore and praised Turkey for extending commendable co-operation for the development of various sectors in Punjab.
The leader of Turk delegation, Burhan Kayaturk accepted the Chief Minister's invitation and said that a delegation of Turk parliamentarians would visit the city in November this year. He said that Turkey wanted to invest more in trade and industrial sectors in Punjab. The chief minister was accompanied by his adviser Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.
