As the IPL tamasha goes on we can look forward to the real baseball World Series Final in cricket garb to be held, at a venue, the BCCI will decide upon, after they get their heads together. I wonder what Bradman and Hutton think about the dugouts flesh shows every time a six is hit, renamed home run.
How will Bill Frindel's score book handle double plays and timeouts all of which are direct imports from baseball. For the next IPL, the teams from various parts of India should be named as follows: Delhi Slogging Indians, Bombay Dollar Boys, Brewery IX of Bangalore, Punjab Todi Manufactruers Club, Deccan Terror Agents, Kolkata Fish Mongers IX, RC Scotch Club, Charmimar Boozers IX and so on. This is a tamasha made for Bollywood stars rather than for cricket. It is indeed sad to see such a vulgar version of a fine game. Please note that 40 overs is not sufficient time to have a few good jars of bear and discuss the finer points of the game. Cheers.
