The Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed a law officer to apprise to the court on June 13 about the criteria of distributing free laptops among the students of public sector intuitions under a Punjab Chief Minister Scheme.
The petitioner, a bar member, Fahad Ahmad Siddiqui, contended that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif launched laptop distribution scheme but it has been restricted only to the students of public sector institutions while the students of private institution has been overlooked altogether. He said under the Constitution all citizen enjoy equal status but this act of Punjab government was discriminatory and violation of the constitution.
