KARACHI: Aamir Liquat Hussain, member of National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday approached Sindh High Court (SHC) against the creation of a new district Keamari in Karachi Division. PTI MNA moved the court against the decision of Sindh Government that bifurcated district West of Karachi to carve out a new district namely.
Dr Aamir made Sindh Government and its departments' respondents in the petition by praying the court to issue orders for the reversal of the decision to create new district Keamari in Karachi Division. He requested that the decision should be declared null and void as it is against the law.
According to the petition, the new district only serves to give a political advantage to the Pakistan Peoples Party, which is ruling in Sindh. He submitted in the court that no census was conducted in District West before the decision to carve out the new district and pleaded the court to declare the act of provincial government illegal.
