KARACHI: On Wednesday, USD strengthened against PKR in both interbank and open markets by a slight margin over yesterday's rates even though US dollar fell across the board on Wednesday as expectations grew that the US central bank may hint at more policy action (Read more at https://www.brecorder.com/news/40019018/dollar-falls-as-markets-increase-bets-on-more-fed-easing). Against Euro, PKR recorded no change over yesterday's rate in open market while falling against AED and SR.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.30 and 166.40 respectively
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR fell by the same margin against USD as in interbank market. It lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling over yesterday's rates closing at 166.30 and 166.50 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged with respect to yesterday's rates closing at 196.50 and 197.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.20 and 45.40 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 44.05 and 44.20 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth on the buying side while it stayed unchanged on the selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Wednesday.
According to currency dealers, the greenback gained 10 paisas and ended for buying at Rs 166.20 against the opening rate of Rs 166.10 whereas it did not witness any change for selling at Rs 167.00.
Furthermore, the rupee continued downward trend for the second consecutive day against the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from Tuesday's closing of Rs 213.00 and Rs 215.00 to Rs 214.00 and Rs 216.00 respectively they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 10 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs166.50 (buying) and Rs166.60 (selling) against last rate of Rs166.40 (buying) and Rs166.50(selling).
It closed at Rs166.50 (buying) and Rs166.60 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs121,600 (selling) and Rs121,300(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi
