No evidence of Imran Khan's involvement in PTV attack, PM's lawyer tells ATC
- In his reply to the ATC, the PM said the case was filed by his political opponents to malign them.
In his reply to the anti-terrorism court (ATC), Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that no witness has testified his involvement in the PTV attack case.
The PM submitted his reply to the ATC regarding his acquittal plea in the PTV attack case on Monday. The reply filed by the PM's lawyer argued that the case registered against the PM is baseless and false and there is no evidence against him.
The lawyer said that the case was filed by the premier's political opponents to malign them.
A case under the Anti-Terrorism Act was filed against President Arif Alvi, Asad Umar, Shafqat Mehmood, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and other PTI leaders for inciting violence during the 2014 dharna. The PM has been granted permanent exemption from appearance.
Three people were killed and 26 injured, while 60 were arrested in 2014 during the dharna. In 2019, the ATC had reserved its verdict regarding the acquittal plea of the premier.
