Lahore administration seals 35 shops, 5 restaurants for violating COVID-19 SOPs
- The administration has imposed 491 micro smart lockdowns across the province.
Amid the second wave of coronavirus, the Lahore administration has sealed 35 shops and five restaurants for violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the metropolis.
Raiwind assistant commissioner sealed 20 shops, Model Town AC sealed 11 shops, while Cantonment AC sealed four shops and five restaurants over SOPs’ violation, local media reported.
435 micro smart lockdowns have also been imposed in the city. Meanwhile, Punjab has also imposed 491 smart lockdowns, including Lahore, across the province.
In a tweet, Lahore Deputy Commissioner Muddassir Riaz Malik said that a marriage hall has also been sealed for not following SOPs. "Akbar e Azam marriage hall has been sealed for Covid 19 violation. A fashion show was underway where masks were not worn by anyone and no social distancing was observed," he tweeted.
Punjab has recorded the second-highest tally of infections after Sindh in the country with 103,587 cases and 2,347 deaths.
