National flag to fly at half-mast in KP to pay tribute to PHC Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that the national flag will fly at half mast on Friday to pay tribute to Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth who died on Thursday.
In a notification, the KP government announced Friday as an official day for mourning. The funeral prayers will be offered today at the old Army Stadium ground in Peshawar at 2:30pm.
The PHC chief justice had tested positive for coronavirus on October 22 after which he was shifted to the Kulsum International Hospital in Islamabad. President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan and other leaders have expressed condolneces.
Justice Seth took oath as the PHC's top judge in June 2018. He presided over a number of high-profile cases, including the special court which heard the high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf and one of the two judges on a three-judge panel, who had handed down the death sentence.
