On the invitation of Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Deputy Prime Minister Parvez Elahi, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain attended the meeting of the PML-Q Ministers, MNAs and MPAs here at the State Guest House on Monday.
Sources said that PML-Q legislators as well as Ministers raised serious concerns over long hours loadshedding and said they were unable to face public due to the worsening loadshedding. They called for overcoming loadshedding problem on war footing basis. According to sources, Dr Asim Hussain informed the participants of the meeting that the government was devotedly working to resolve the problem of power loadshedding at the earliest. He expressed optimism to overcome the problem soon.
During the meeting, the PML leaders also apprised the Minister for Petroleum about matters pertaining to Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) in their respective constituencies. On this, the minister promised Chaudhry brothers that PML-Q leaders' problems about SNGPL would be resolved on priority basis.
Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, who was presiding over the meeting, thanked Dr Asim Hussain for coming to Lahore and attending the meeting. He said that he along with Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in their recent meetings with the President and the Prime Minister had suggested that the government should now formulate people welfare oriented policies for a period of six-month instead of the Five Years Plans.
During the meeting, PML Ministers and parliamentarians said that they were facing great difficulties as peoples' grievances, complaints and problems were not being properly attended to. Anwar Ali Cheema, Shaikh Waqas Akram, Akram Masih Gill, Liaquat Abbas Bhatti, Mehdi Abbas Bhatti, Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry, Sardar Talib Nakai, Colonel Muhammad Abbas Chaudhry and Dewan Ashiq Hussain were among those were present I the meeting.
