The Karachi Port handled 103,579 tonnes of cargo comprising 91,510 tonnes of import cargo and 12,069 tonnes of export cargo including 2,363 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 91,510 tonnes comprised of 17,035 tonnes of containerised cargo; 770 tonnes of general cargo; 11,825 tonnes of bulk cargo: 5,825 tonnes of DAP; 6,000 tonnes of coal and 61,880 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 12,069 tonnes comprised of 11,640 tonnes of containerised cargo; 50 tonnes of general cargo and 379 tonnes of cement. A total number of 2,363 containers comprising 1,213 containers import and 1,150 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The brake up of imported containers shows 481 of 20's and 361 of 40's of loaded while 10 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 313 of 20's and 159 of 40's loaded containers while and 111 of 20's 204 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Three ships namely Lindavia, Hyundai General and Sapphire-T carrying two container ships and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Sapphire-T, Electa, Samraa Al Khalej, Hanjin Durban, Rfecon Eme and Busan Star with three oil tankers, one container ship, one general cargo ship and one bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Lodestar Genesis, Rfecon Eme and Samraa Al Khalej carrying one chemicals carrier, one general cargo ship and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday. Three vessels viz Akeraios, Diana Bolten and Madrid Trader carrying one molasses tanker, one coal carrier and one steel carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while six vessels viz APL Brisbane, Shayan-1, President Adams, Ital Moderna, Tamina and Ginga Lanner with five container ships and one base oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 121,975 tonnes comprising 87,639 tonnes of import cargo and 34,336 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,939 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 87,639 tonnes includes 62,900 tonnes of furnace oil; 2,500 tonnes of edible oil and 22,239 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 34,336 tonnes includes 9,106 tonnes of cement; 5,055 tonnes of corn; 1,695 tonnes of rice and 18,480 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely CV MSC Jemima and MT Karachi carrying containers and furnace oil sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Sealand Washington, CV MSC Jemima, MV Heckor, AMS Pegasus, Sapphire-II, Outrivaling-2, SFL Kent, MT Karachi and Fuji Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, corn, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as seven ships namely Nedlloyd Mercator, Najran, Baltic, Olympic Serenity, Akaki, Unicorn Emerald and Harsanadi with containers, furnace oil, wheat and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of three vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Mercator, CV Najran and MT Olympic Serenity with containers and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
