Missing Nato containers: Supreme Court hints at involvement of officials in scam

Supreme Court Thursday observed it seemed that senior officials of the concerned departments were involved in the embezzlement of billion of rupees in missing Nato container scam. A two-member Bench of Justices Jawwad S Khawaja and Khilji Arif Hussain conducted a short time hearing on progress report of missing Nato container case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), however, failed to submit record of Cross Border Certificates (CBCs). The bench asked the NAB to produce all the details pertaining to the issuance of CBCs to ascertain number of missing Nato containers. Justice Khawaja remarked that the instant matter was of sensitive nature as it involved misappropriation of Rs 69 billion. NAB authorities sought more time. The bench adjourned the case, saying that the matter would be taken up by the Quetta Registry on September 05.
