PSL final will be held in Karachi: Sethi confirms
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi has confirmed that Pakistan Super League (PSL) final will be held in Karachi on March 25.
Talking to reporters at National Stadium Karachi, the PCB chief said, “I am confirming this good news for Karachiites that the final of PSL3 will be held in Karachi.”
Praising Pakistan Army, NLC, PCB officials and Sindh government, Sethi said they are working 24 hours to make stadium ready for the final. “I salute them that how they managed to complete the work in these circumstances. I am impressed. The army had their back while Sindh government providing financial support and workers of NLC and NESPak.”
“Most of the work or I say 90 percent of the work has been complete,” Sethi said, while informing that he will visit the stadium again on March 15.
In view of increasing demand of PSL final tickets, Sethi informed the tickets will be put on sale by March 15th.
“My team wanted to put tickets on sale from March 10th. However, we have a limited capacity so I have decided to put the tickets on sale by March 15th.”
On his visit, Sethi visited different enclosures, the ground and expressed satisfaction at the security arrangements.
The police have already issued a security notification for the final which states that all businesses and offices located on Shahrah-e-Faisal and Karsaz Road which are within the jurisdiction of Bahadrabad Police Station will remain closed from 6am on March 25 till 6am on March 26.
It is pertinent to mention here that Group stage PSL matches are being played in Dubai and Sharjah and the knockout stage matches will be played in Lahore, with the final expected to take place in Karachi on March 25.
