Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has on Tuesday announced its candidates for forthcoming by-elections in Punjab. While addressing a press conference, PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry said the party will fully participate in the by-elections and in this connection the party announced the names of its candidates to contest on both national and provincial seats.
He said the party has awarded tickets to Nazir Sobi for contesting the by-elections from NA-68 (Sargodha), Ayla Malik from NA-71 (Mianwali), Faizullah Kamoka from NA-82 (Faisalabad), Chaudhry Mansha Sindu from NA-129 (Lahore), Wasak Qayyum Abbasi from PP-6 (Rawalpindi), Ajmal Cheema from PP-51 (Faisalabad), Saeed Khursheed Kanju from PP-210 (Lodhran), Chaudhry Maqsood from PP-217 (Mian Channu), Sardar Ahmed Ali Dreshak from PP-243 (Dera Ghazi Khan), Abdul Hayee Dasti from PP-289 (Muzaffarabad), Dr Ziaullah Jatoi from PP-289 (Rajanpur), Mehar Wajad Azeem from PP-150 (Lahore), Khalid Mahmood from PP-161 (Lahore) and Malik Waqar Ahmed Shamal from PP-142 (Lahore).
"Candidates for the rest of seats from Punjab will be announced later," he added. He also announced that they have appointed Fareeduddin Ahmed as the convenor of PTI Punjab Local Government Committee, which has constituted to look in to the affairs of local bodies elections. Ejaz Chaudhry pointed out that in the first 50 days the PML-N's government has failed to provide any relief to the people. He said the taxes levied in the budget has put extra financial burden on the hard pressed people. "The anti-people budget has increased the prices food and utilities," he added.
