Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, winding up his engagements in London, has decided to immediately return back to country. According to Prime Minister Office, the prime minister is leaving for Pakistan Sunday in the wake of Bahawalpur tragic incident of oil spill. Nawaz Sharif will directly land in Multan from the United Kingdom on Monday.
The prime minister noted that the terror incidents on Jummatul Wida and Ahmedpur Sharqia tragedy had grieved the nation immensely. He appealed to the nation to pray for the departed souls and for early recovery of the injured. Nawaz Sharif had contacted Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and directed him to reach Ahmadpur Sharqia and supervise all the rescue and relief activities.
The Prime Minister also directed for all possible relief to the victims' families. Speaking to media after offering Eid prayers in London on Sunday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and termed it a national tragedy. He said he has issued directions to Shahbaz Sharif for take speedy measures in providing all possible assistance to the injured in the incident.
To a question, he said that the government will deal the menace of terrorism with iron hand and is committed to curb it from the country. The tanker carrying 50,000 litres of fuel overturned on a main highway while travelling from Karachi to Lahore, near the town of Ahmedpur East in Punjab province.
He said we have succeeded the decline the ratio of terrorism incident comparing 2013 and the nation will witness better result in coming days. He said Pakistan wants peace and stability in Afghanistan and he has discussed this issue with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
