Pakistan's bed-wear textile export grew by 3.22 percent to $1.922 billion in July-May 2016-2017, according to official figures. Growth in bed-wear textile export stands at $59.945 million in July-May 2016-2017 from $1.862 billion in July-May 2015-2016, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics showed. In term of volume, bed-wear textile export posted an increase of five percent or 15014 metric tons to 318,070 metric tons in July-May 2016-2017 from 303,056 metric tons in July-May 2015-2016.
During May 2017, bed-wear textile export however slumped to $155.311 million from $183.865 million in May 2016, showing a fall of $28.554 million or 16 percent. Quantity of bed-wear textile export also plunged by 16.38 percent or 4927 metric tons to 25,160 metric tons in May 2017 from 30,087 metric tons in May 2016.
