Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat held steady at terminals across the interior southern US Plains on Thursday, grain dealers said. Bids for wheat shipped to export terminals at the US Gulf firmed, rising by 5 cents per bushel. Farmer selling was slow following sharp declines in the futures market during the overnight trading session, a dealer in Kansas said. Most growers had booked deals for their wheat as the market rallied in the past few weeks. K.C. September wheat futures were down 18 cents at $5.51-1/2 a bushel at 8:33 am CDT (1333 GMT).
