DUBAI/HAMBURG: Iraq's trade ministry plans on Sunday to issue an international tender to buy at least 50,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat, official sources and traders said on Thursday, adding that no tender had been issued yet.
Traders said they had been told a tender would be issued but that no announcement had yet been made.
The tender was likely to close on Nov. 26 with offers remaining valid up to Dec. 2, traders said.
The wheat is expected to be sought optionally from the United States, Canada or Australia. Russian wheat was expected to be excluded again despite Iraq saying this week it may include Russian wheat as a possible origin in future tenders.
